The restoration juniper that we use is harvested in Eastern Oregon and Washington where it competes with other native species for limited water resources. We are happy to be able to offer this unique and sustainable building material in our raised garden bed construction.
Please note that Juniper is a denser material than cedar with more knots, “live edges”, and a rougher exterior finish. Let’s just say it has a lot of character. While longer lasting than cedar, it doesn’t have the same consistency and “perfect” finish that you will find with our Cedar raised garden beds. It’s not for everybody, but it is an excellent choice where practicality and sustainability are primary considerations.
